Wow what a slow and flat trading day! After yesterday's excitement I was looking for some movers and shakers to make me some money today. What I got in return were stocks dying a slow death today. I ended up buying 3000 shares of Navistar (NAV) averaged at $8.81/share, 3000 shares of Avon (AVP) averaged at $3.81/share, and 1000 shares of Sunedison (SUNE) averaged at $5.75/share.
Everything sputtered around barely moving, or when they did move it was a downwards movement.... =/ I ended up holding everything and currently have an unrealized loss of -$726.27 for the day. I'm hoping they turn around and bring me back to green tomorrow as I plan to sell them either way to be 100% liquid by Thursday.

Day 1 Successful! +$2898.97
I woke up this morning to hear about negative politics between Saudi Arabia, and Iran, The Chinese market crashing 7% in 7 minutes, and all sorts of random bad news that was dragging the US market down in premarket this morning. Despite all that, the stock I had been waiting to make me money since last week finally squeezed out some of the shorts. Sunedison (SUNE) was up nearly 13.16% for the day and I sold my 7000 shares in increments as it climbed for a net profit of $1902.47!
I also bought into 3D systems (DDD) at $8.95/share and sold off stupidly at $9.21/share for a small but very quick $245.83 profit. I also bought and sold Navistar International (NAV) on 3 separate swings for small but very quick profits of $56.72, $95.74, and $105.76!
All in all my portfolio value swung from $33,319 to $36,217.97 on the first trading day of the year! I'm 100% liquid right now, and might stay that way for the next couple days if the market continues to sour or I don't see anything worth buying. We'll see!

Stock Pick of the Week 1/4/16
In addition to my day trading/swing trading, I will be picking a stock on Sunday nights to buy at some point on Monday within my price limit. This week's pick is Amaya Inc (AYA). I'm hoping to pick some up between $12.50 - $13.00 /share tomorrow morning and my target sell price is $13.75-$14.50/share or in other words a 10% gain.

2016 A New Beginning
2015 was an absolute financial nightmare for me! Between my wife and I, we had lost nearly $60,000 investing in energy/oil, and as a result I am now very against any long term holdings of commodities such as oil and gold. Oil lost over 35% of it's value in 2015 alone and it doesn't appear that it will be going back to it's highs anytime in the near future.
In fact the only way I plan to trade commodities in the future will be via intraday trading via leveraged stocks such as DWTI or UWTI. This blog will be used to track my daily profits / losses in my day/swing trading adventures. I go into the first trading day of 2016 holding 7000 shares of Sunedison Inc (SUNE) averaged at $5.16 /share, with my brokerage account currently worth $33,319. How long will it take me to day trade my way to make that 10 times the value it is today? Let's find out!
